3 Nights Central Kalahari

A remote safari into the vast landscapes of the Central Kalahari, based in the Deception Valley area and focused on open plains wildlife and uninterrupted horizons.

Overview

This four-day (three-night) safari departs Maun in the morning and travels deep into the Central Kalahari Game Reserve. Based in the Deception Valley area, the itinerary focuses on extended game drives across open grasslands and fossil river valleys, with time to explore the scale and solitude of this unique desert ecosystem.

Itinerary Summary

Day 1: Maun to Central Kalahari
Departure from Maun at approximately 08:00 for the five-hour drive into the Central Kalahari Game Reserve. Arrival in camp in the early afternoon. Late afternoon game drive before sunset.

Day 2: Deception Valley
Morning game drive exploring the open plains and fossil river systems. Afternoon game drive until sunset.

Day 3: Full Day in Central Kalahari
Full day game drive with picnic lunch, allowing extended exploration of the Deception Valley region.

Day 4: Return to Maun
Early morning activity followed by brunch in camp. Departure for Maun, arriving at approximately 17:00.

Accommodation & Camp Style

Accommodation is in en-suite dome tents with comfortable bedrolls and linen on stretcher beds. Each tent includes a bedside table with lantern and a private bathroom enclosure attached at the rear with shower and toilet. Towel and soap are provided.

Rate

US$1,300 per person
Based on a minimum of three guests travelling together.
