8 Nights Maun to Kasane
An overland safari journey from Maun through the Okavango region, Moremi Game Reserve, Khwai and Savuti, ending in Kasane near the Chobe River. This itinerary combines Delta exploration, classic game viewing and remote northern Botswana landscapes.
Overview
This nine-day (eight-night) overland safari begins in Maun and travels north through multiple ecosystems, finishing in Kasane. The journey includes time in the Okavango Delta, extended game viewing in Moremi, Khwai and Savuti, and a balance of structured activities with time in camp.
The itinerary may also operate in reverse, beginning in Kasane and ending in Maun.
Accommodation & Camp Style
Accommodation throughout the safari is in en-suite meru-style tents set up ahead of your arrival at each location.
Each tent includes a comfortable bedroll with linen on stretchers, rugs, a bedside table with lantern, and an attached private bathroom enclosure with shower and toilet.
Camps are fully serviced, with staff preparing meals and maintaining camp while you are on activities.
Itinerary Summary
Day 1: Maun to Daonara (Okavango)
Departure from Maun at approximately 15:00 for a two-hour drive to the Daonara area in the Eastern Okavango. Arrival in the late afternoon at a riverside campsite. Dinner is served under the stars.
Day 2: Okavango Delta Excursion
Early departure for a game drive and mokoro excursion deep into the Delta, including water-based exploration and a guided island walk. Picnic lunch and afternoon return to camp.
Day 3: Moremi Game Reserve
Early transfer into Moremi via South Gate. Full day game viewing en route to the Xakanaxa area.
Day 4: Moremi with Boating
Full day game viewing combined with a two-hour boating excursion from Xakanaxa in the late afternoon.
Day 5: Moremi to Khwai
Morning departure for a full day of game viewing en route to Khwai.
Day 6: Khwai (Including Night Drive)
Morning and afternoon game drives, including a sunset and short night drive.
Day 7: Khwai to Savuti
Full day game viewing while transferring north to Savuti.
Day 8: Savuti
Morning and afternoon game drives exploring the Savuti region.
Day 9: Savuti to Kasane
Departure at approximately 07:00 for the five-hour drive to Kasane, arriving around midday. The safari concludes in central Kasane.
Accommodation or onward transfers to Chobe or Victoria Falls can be arranged on request.
